SolarLogix, an Authorized EPC Channel Partner of TATA Power Solar, is proud to announce the successful installation of a 72kW solar power system at The Times of India in Kolkata, West Bengal. This innovative installation marks the launch of India’s first solar-powered cafeteria, setting a pioneering example for sustainability in the media sector.
The rooftop solar installation, which features a customized rooftop fabrication with a GI sheet roof structure, is designed to meet the energy needs of the cafeteria while significantly reducing the carbon footprint. The system generates a daily output of 256.32 units of solar energy, contributing to a substantial yearly savings of ₹7,95,232.80.
Environmental Impact:
The environmental benefits are equally impressive:
- CO2 Offset: 1493.44 metric tons of CO2, which is equivalent to 1,753.26 acres of forest per year.
- Coal Burn Avoided: 740.66 metric tons, which is the same as planting 24,714 trees.
- Petrol Consumption Avoided: 636,975.30 liters, equivalent to a distance of 5,872,375.46 kilometers driven.
Economic Benefits:
The project demonstrates an excellent return on investment (ROI) of 30.6%, with a payback period of just over 3.27 years.
