Like most tea estates in the Dooars region, Chengmari runs its own processing factory alongside cultivation, which means power costs are a fixed, recurring drain rather than a seasonal one. The Solution: A 1040 kW Bifacial Ground-Mounted System
Tata Power SolarLogix designed and executed a 1,040 kW ground-mounted solar plant using bifacial modules — panels that generate electricity from both the front and rear surfaces, capturing direct sunlight on top and reflected/diffused light from the ground and surroundings underneath. On a ground-mount structure at height, this typically adds a meaningful generation bonus over an equivalent monofacial system without expanding the land footprint.
As a Tata Power Solar Authorized Channel Partner, SolarLogix executed the project with TATA-certified components and structural design suited to the site’s soil and wind-loading conditions, positioning Chengmari as the first commercial deployment of bifacial technology in India.
